TRAINING INFORMATION
We have several training arenas. Our main arena for obedience training is a smooth concrete pad, clean, fenced, lighted area that provides seating for friends, family or spectators. We also have a lush, grass training area that we use for agility and alternative obedience training. If the weather is not cooperative we have an inside, air conditioned area for obedience and private lessons. Our facility is located at Critter Boarding & Grooming on County Line Road in Spring Hill,

PUPPY ORIENTATION
Why is this course a must for the new puppy owner? Every new puppy parent and family is taken in by the cute antics and affection of this new cuddly family member and do not anticipate the inevitable growth and character changes that will evolve. In no time the cute antics become destructive and not so alluring. The little messes get bigger; the squirts larger, the chewing, barking, jumping, nipping and hundred other changes are not so cute anymore. This orientation prepares you for these changes and gives insight on how to deal with the growing process and is designed to alleviate stress for the puppy and family members. It is important to start training your new puppy as soon as possible. Getting the new pup headed in the right direction from the beginning alleviates having to modify unacceptable behavior modifications that develop by neglecting proper practices from the beginning. This class also is designed as a preparatory base for basic obedience classes. Orientation is usually done in your home and we encourage family participation for best results. Usually one visit gives you the information needed for a cost of $60.00 to $75.00 (within in our service area).
BASIC OBEDIENCE - SIX WEEKS
What most canine owners are looking for is good manners from their canine family member and to become an integrated part of the family. The Basic Obedience program trains you and your dog how to perform the basic commands, heel (walk) by your side and sit each time you stop, sit and stay, down and stay, come to you on command. Where we really are different is that we provide you basic canine psychology in orientation and throughout the six week program. Once you understand what motivates your dog you are better equipped to correct future problems and misbehaviors. In addition to the basics you will learn how to properly correct your canine for most other unacceptable behaviors like barking, jumping, door bell reaction, stealing items, nipping, etc. The class runs once a week for six weeks, first class is orientation and without dogs, we discuss program overview, equipment, psychology, review shot records, complete enrollment form and have a Q & A session. Cost is $125.00.
ADVANCED ONE - SEVEN WEEKS
For those that want more….The goal is to have complete control of your dog by using hand signals, off leash control in any and all conditions. This program really develops trust and bond between canine and owner. Noises like gunfire, sirens, doorbells, cowbells and many other distracting sounds are introduced to give your dog a solid, secure stability in any situation. To have a dog that you know will respond correctly in any situation, at any time is a good feeling. This program is set up for just that and more. You and your canine will learn extended “stays”, where you can leave your dog anywhere with confidence that he/she will not leave or be coaxed away by something or someone else, will actually “stay” when told to. A great program with loads of fun for owners that want the most from their canines. Cost is $125.00.
AGILITY - SIX WEEKS
Put a smile on your dogs face (keeps you in shape also)---Great fun and exercise. Open to all breeds and sizes, bring them all…Our agility program is based on the format of a national agility association that believes agility should be fun and not some uppity, stuffed shirt, must belong to a certain organization to enter your dog. Our obstacles and training are nationally standardized for the owner that wants to get serious about competition. Proper rules and protocol are followed throughout the program so if one decides to pursue the competitive agility circuit there will be no bad habits instilled that need to be corrected. Most of all this is about learning the right way and having fun. Cost $125.00.
BOARD AND TRAIN
Our board and training program is where you leave your dog with us for a designated period of time and we train your dog to whatever level you want. Once the dog is trained we then work with you (bring you up to the dog’s level) and after a period of time you and your dog are re-united and working as a team. Our main training facility is adjacent to and associated with the finest, upscale pet resort in the area. Prices vary based upon your requirements and level of training.
BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
Dogs sometimes do not do exactly what we want them to do…In most cases it is something small that needs to be modified. We are experts with many years of experience and training on behavior modification and can usually identify and suggest a solution to rectify the unpleasant situation in one or two sessions. Usually the problem(s) can be solved right in the comfort of your home. We are aware of many “trainers” that claim they can solve the problem for lots of money (hundreds) from you, the truth of the matter is that if the behaviorist knows what they are doing the problem can be solved quickly and inexpensively. It is true that not every situation and dog can be easily fixed but for the most part we are doggone successful. So before you “get rid” or “give up” on your canine give us a call.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Your place or ours? If your schedule does not allow you to join one of our classes we will come to you or we can meet at our facility for personalized training. We offer customized programs to meet your needs. One time, weekly, or even accelerated courses we can design something great for you and your dog based upon your schedule. Prices are very reasonable and affordable. We have both daytime and evening classes available.
